Beverley McMackin – Project Manager

Beverley is the Manager of Finglas West Family Resource Centre (FRC) with over 20 years of experience working with vulnerable adults and children. Beverley has worked and volunteered in Residential services, women’s refuge services, youth work, drug recovery services and AIDS/Homeless services. Beverley has been part of the Barnardos organisation for 18.5 years and worked with children and families in a variety of roles, such as a project worker for our intensive family support service, offering one to one support to children, parenting support, group work and Assessments.

Beverley is currently managing Finglas West FRC, since November 2018. Finglas West FRC is part of a national programme and is one of the 120 government funded family resource centres located around the country. The FRC programme takes a targeted universal approach to the delivery of needs led outcome focused services underpinned by community development principles.

Barnardos is the lead agency on the FRC project consisting of key local and national stakeholders. Beverley has the responsibility for the day-to-day management of the FRC, which involves the setup and development of this new project and service provision. The Family Resource Centre offers evidence based programmes to children and their families promote community wellbeing and enhance the physical environment in Finglas West. Beverley holds a level eight BA (Hons) in Social Care. When Beverley is not at work, she likes beach walking with her dog, spending time with her children and enjoying coffee with friends.

Mary Gillick – Project Worker

Mary is a Project Worker in the Finglas West Family Resource Centre (FRC) with over 20 years of experience working with children and families. Mary has worked and volunteered in Residential Services, Homeless Services, with children in Temporary and Permanent Foster Care and in Family Support. Mary has been part of the Barnardos organisation for 15 years in both Ireland and Australia working with children and families in a variety of roles. This includes working as a Project Worker for an intensive family support service, offering one to one support to children, parenting support, group work and Assessments. Also as a Senior Case Manager working with children in permanent care and assessing prospective foster carers.

Mary has worked in the Finglas West FRC since November 2018. Mary has a Diploma in Social Care and a BsC (Hons) in Social Science. Mary is trained in Baby Massage, Mindfulness for both Parents and Children, PeePs Programme, Triple P Parenting Programmes and Circle of Security.

Mary enjoys running and spending time with her family and friends.

Stephanie Maher – Project Worker

Stephanie is a Project Worker in the Finglas West Family Resource Centre (FRC) for almost 3 years. Stephanie has 10 years’ experience working with vulnerable children, young people and adults. She has worked in Barnardo’s preschool services, community addiction support services, afterschool services and teen parents support programmes over the years. Stephanie has 2 years management experience in a community addiction service which supported parents, young people and children who were impacted by addiction.

Stephanie has a Masters in Child, Family and Community Studies and a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Education. She is also trained in HighScope, Tús Maíth, Baby Massage, PEEPS Parent and Toddler Programme, Tripe P Parenting Programmes, Circle of Security and Mindfulness for both children and parents.

Stephanie really enjoys facilitating groups with toddlers and parents which gets everyone singing, telling stories and messy with group sensory activities. When Stephanie is not at work, she likes swimming, spending time with her daughter and catching up with friends.

Rhian McEvoy – Project Administrator

Rhian has been part of the team since the FRC first started in November 2018. Originally from Wales, Rhian has over 10 years’ administrative experience working in various roles in the public, private and charity sector. Rhian has held posts in Make-A-Wish Foundation Ireland, Youth Advocate Programmes Ireland and Lucena Clinic before starting with Barnardos Ireland. Rhian has a passion for working in the community and in her spare time enjoys travelling and spending time with her young family.

Siobhan Lyons

Siobhan is the maternity cover administrator here at the Family Resource Centre

Siobhan lives in Finglas West and has great passion for working within her community. Siobhan has administration experience working in a variety of roles.  Siobhan wants to continue working in the community and obtained a Level 5 Special Needs Assistance Award in 2022 as she hopes to be a Special Needs Assistant in the future.   Siobhan is the Fire Warden and the First Aid Responder at the Family Resource Centre and has recently obtained her certificate in LGBTQ+ Support.

Siobhan is the first person you meet when you come to the Family Resource Centre, she takes the enquires about our services and enjoys welcoming the community to the service. When not working with the community Siobhan enjoys running, the gym and activities with her young children.

Anita Allen

Anita is a Project Worker here in the Finglas West Family Resource Centre (FRC).

Anita graduated from DCU with a degree in Early Childhood Education in 2019. Anita has worked in both Preschools and Afterschool’s and has experiences working with children from birth to 8 years old. Anita has also volunteered and worked with children with additional needs and is very passionate about inclusion and diversity, Anita feels is very important for children to explore, develop skills and have fun.

Here in the FRC Anita facilitates many groups such as Sensory Adventures, Homework Stay and Play and also our Play Programme. Anita enjoys working with children and her work in the FRC allows her to be creative, use her imagination and also have meaningful interactions with children on a daily basis.

Anita has qualifications in both Human Resource Management and also in Leadership and Inclusion (LINC).

Anita enjoys going to the gym and going for walks on the beach.
